Baseball

Braden River beat Riverview 7-0. John Bean III threw five shutout innings for the Pirates, and Ryan Duncan had two hits and three RBI. 

Lakewood Ranch beat Manatee 7-6. Colton Zimring threw six innings for the Mustangs, racking up 15 strikeouts. Dylan Buck had two RBI. 

Golf

At Rosedale Golf and Country Club's Men's Closing Day team scramble event, Larry Kassouf, Michael Schneider, Tom Troxell and Ron Boehm (108) won Flight One, and the teams of Ron Kiggins, Gerald Lange, Fred Riddle and Lee Weisbord; and Jim Heotis, Allen Duhr and Gerry Christensen tied for first place in Flight Two, shooting 111.

Larry Hidden and Dan Stickler (+14) won Palm Aire Country Club's Men's Golf Association two-man team quota points event, and William Wachter, Les Seelig, Mark Romich and Frank Darling (-4.06) won the club's Nine Hole Men's Golf Association scramble event.

Michael Levitan won University Park Country Club's 2017 Race to the Cup, accumulating 1270 points.
