East County High 5 moments: 10.06.16

1 — Braden River running back Raymond Thomas racked up 138 yards and two touchdowns rushing in the Pirates' 38-0 beatdown of North Port on Sept. 30.

2 — The Lakewood Ranch girls golf team recorded a season-best score of 151 on Sept. 28 in a dual match win against Sarasota. Mustang sophomore Ashley Ringo shot a 2-under 34 to earn medalist honors.

3 — Lakewood Ranch boys golfers Drew Angelo, a sophomore, and Billy Herten, a senior, were named to the All-Manatee County team Oct. 1 following the Manatee County Golf Tournament. Angelo shot a 71 for second place while Herten was fifth at 74 to lead the Mustangs to a second-place team finish.

4 — Braden River volleyball player Abby Hood had six kills, seven blocks and three aces in the Pirates’ 3-1 win over Lakewood Ranch on Sept. 27.

5 — Before leaving the game with an injury, former Lakewood Ranch and USF center Austin Reiter made his first career NFL start for the Cleveland Browns in the team’s 31-20 loss against Washington on Oct. 2.
