Organizers of the Mayors’ Feed the Hungry program are urging Sarasota residents to donate non-perishable food items to the Mayors' Feed the Hungry food drive before Nov. 18.

The organization is reporting decreased donations this year and Chairman Joel Swallow believes that politics may be contributing to this year's decrease.

"We are wondering if people's attention is still focused on the aftermath of the election, because we're seeing fewer donations so far," Swallow said. “It’s a shame, because there’s a desperate need here in our community.”

People wishing to donate can do so until tomorrow. The food drive will culminate tomorrow at Ed Smith Stadium from noon to 5 p.m. where food will be sorted and distributed to food pantries throughout Sarasota and Manatee counties.

Check below for a list of places to donate before tomorrow's deadline.

  • The Baltimore Orioles at Ed Smith Stadium
  • All Coldwell Banker offices in Sarasota & Manatee
  • POPI’S Restaurants
  • Chase Banks
  • Detweilers
  • Sarasota City Hall or any Sarasota Police Stations
