Lakewood Ranch woman arrested for fraud

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Lakewood Ranch woman for stealing money from a local volleyball club.

Authorities arrested Jennifer Venditti, 42, and charged her with a scheme to defraud the Ranch Academy of Volleyball Excellence, where she served as a volunteer.

Detectives believe Venditti took about $19,000 from the club from September 2015 through April 2016. Venditti deposited checks from Ranch Academy into her personal bank account and made several unauthorized ATM withdrawals.

“There’s a very strong case against her,” Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dave Bristow said.
