Sarasota High 5 Moments: 04.14.16

1 — Riverview’s Brandon Lup and Gabriel Von Kessel won their No. 2 doubles match 3-6, 6-0, 10-7 to clinch a 4-2 victory versus Lutz Steinbrenner in the Class 4A-Region 4 final April 7 and earn a berth in the state tournament April 11 and April 12. 

2 — Cardinal Mooney goalkeeper Alex Sobczak recorded 10 saves in the first half to propel the Cougars boys lacrosse team to a 16-7 victory versus rival ODA in the District 17 championship April 8. 

3 — Sarah Jenkins tossed a complete game with nine strikeouts and added three doubles at the plate to power the Booker softball team past Port Charlotte 9-2 in its regular season finale April 8. 

4 — Sarasota senior Abby Wishart notched the game-winning hit in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge the Sailors past Charlotte 6-5 April 7, on Senior Night. 

5 — Vaun Brown had a triple and three RBI to help lead the Sarasota baseball team to an 8-4 victory versus Seminole April 8.
