Manatee commission considers Rye Road speed limit change

Manatee County commissioners will move forward with plans to reduce the speed limit on Rye Road.

The board set a public hearing for May 10 to change the speed limit on Rye from 55 mph to 45 mph.

Transportation staff has advised commissioners that reducing the speed limit on Rye Road will not have any significant impacts on the roadway and that the department already planned to reevaluate the speed limit there when White Eagle Boulevard is extended to connect to State Road 64. White Eagle aligns with Rye Road, south of S.R. 64.
