1. THURSDAY, April 7

The Sarasota softball team will celebrate its senior class when it closes out the regular season versus Charlotte at 7 p.m. Five seniors, including Abby Wishart, SarahBeth Wengerd, Brittany Bendel, Kourtney Linn and Kayla Johnson, will be recognized prior to the start of the game. 

2. FRIDAY,  April 8

Area track and field teams will vie for the title of county champion during the Sarasota County Championships, at Booker High. Booker, Sarasota, Riverview, Cardinal Mooney, ODA and Sarasota Christian all are expected to be in attendance when the gun goes off at 3 p.m.

3. FRIDAY, April 8

The Cardinal Mooney baseball team will look to extend its winning streak when it travels to Lakewood Ranch at 7 p.m. The Cougars and Mustangs faced off a month ago in what turned into a pitcher’s dual with Cardinal Mooney holding on for a 1-0 victory.

4. TUESDAY, April 12 

The Sarasota High baseball team will return home to Ronald K. Drews Field to open the final week of the season against Venice, one of the state’s top teams, at 7 p.m. The Indians, ranked No. 11 in the state, held off the Sailors 8-5 in the first meeting between the two teams back on March 3.
