1 — The Tampa Mustangs 18U softball team went undefeated to win the TCS Rising Stars Softball Showcase Oct. 23 through Oct. 25 in Plantation.

2 — The Lakewood Ranch High girls soccer team opened its season with a 2-0 victory against rival Braden River Oct. 27.

3 — Former Lakewood Ranch cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie had two interceptions, returning one for a 58-yard touchdown, to lead the New York Giants to a 27-20 over NFC East rival Dallas Oct. 25.

4 — Emily Brusco scored the lone goal for Cardinal Mooney as the Cougars opened the season with a 1-0 victory versus Riverview Oct. 27.

5 — University Park Country Club resident Lynn Lockhorn scored 21 to win the individual Stableford nine-hole event Oct. 29, at University Park Country Club.
