Sarasota High 5 Moments: 11.05.15

1 — The Sarasota High boys and girls cross-country teams made school history after both squads won Class 4A-Region 2 titles Oct. 30, at Holloway Park in Lakeland. 

2 — Cardinal Mooney senior Matthew Garcia won the 100-yard backstroke at the Class 1A-Region 3 Swimming and Diving Championships Oct. 31, at the Selby Aquatic Center, to qualify for the state meet. 

3 — The Sarasota Christian boys golf team shot a combined 631 to finish fourth at the Class 1A state tournament Oct. 27 and Oct. 28, at Mission Inn and Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills. 

4 —The Riverview High boys soccer team blanked Sarasota 4-0 in a pre-season classic Oct. 29. 

5 — Cardinal Mooney’s Alex Turner scored three goals and added an assist to lead the Cougars to a 5-0 victory against Booker in a pre-season classic Oct. 29, at Sarasota High.
