WEEKEND BEST BET: Art at the Ranch Fine Art Festival

Art enthusiasts: East County has an event designed just for you.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 21, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 22, Lakewood Ranch Main Street will showcase a shopping strip full of paintings and photographs for sale and for your browsing pleasure, along with art demonstrations by award-winning artists.

Artists submit pieces for prizes in the following categories: painting and drawing; sculpture; fine crafts; photography; jewelry; and pottery. A Best of Show award will also be presented.

The ArtCenter Manatee and LWR Communities are hosting the free event, which also features craft vendors, food and other entertainment for attendees.

Parking for the event is also free in the lots behind Main Street.
