Nancy's Bar-B-Q preps for Lakewood Ranch opening

Nancy’s Bar-B-Q expansion onto Lakewood Ranch Main Street is sticking with the slow-cooked style for which the restaurant is known.

But that’s no worry. Owner Nancy Krohngold says she expects the new location to open in about eight weeks, or by early September, at the latest. She’s had the space secured since October 2014.

Booming business at the Pineapple Avenue location and with catering have kept Krohngold busy. She also was waiting to buy out her partner’s stake in the Nancy’s name; that deal closed April 2, after several months of delays.

“It took until April 2 for all the other pieces to fall into place,” Krohngold said. “We couldn’t start (design) or construction until after that happened.”

Krohngold said she gets at least 10 inquiries a day about when the new space will open.

“I am thrilled I’m going to be in Lakewood Ranch,” she said.
