Warrant issued for Gross' son

Three years after Lakewood Ranch resident Ina Gross died in the garage of her home, her son, Thomas Gross, has officially been named a suspect.

The State Attorney's office has issued an arrest warrant for Thomas Gross, who lives in Israel with dual citizenship.

Manatee County Sheriff's Office Public Information Office Dave Bristow confirmed the warrant was issued July 3, but declined further comment, saying the sheriff's office did not wish to publicize the fact the warrant had been issued.

Thomas Gross had been visiting with his mother before he reported finding her dead in the garage of her home Jan. 9, 2012. The sheriff's office identified Thomas Gross as a person of interest, but continued working with the state attorney's office to ensure it had a solid case against him before making any charges.
