MONDAY, FEB. 23

Al Fuller’s Blues Jam — takes place at 9 p.m. at the Five O’Clock Club. Free.

Sarasota blues man Al Fuller and his band start out the night with some original tunes and then host an open-stage blues jam featuring many local musicians.

Bring your instruments and join in.


TUESDAY, FEB. 24

Scrub Away Cancer takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. at Libby's Café + Bar. $35 in advance or $45 at the door.

Join some of the best doctors in Sarasota for a night of drinks, raffles, and hors d'oeuvres, all in the name of fighting cancer.

Celebrity doctor bartenders will pour drinks for tips, all of which will go toward helping men, women and children battle the disease.


 WEDNESDAY, FEB. 25

+ Moxie Moxie takes place from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Starlite Roomfrom, 1001 Cocoanut Ave. Free. 

Catch Sarasota musician Shannon Fortner's solo project at the recently opened Starlite Room, just north of downtown.

Enjoy an original set, a DJ set and ’60s-inspired cocktails in this swanky lounge.


 THURSDAY, FEB. 26

+ Jimmy Shuberttakes place at 7 p.m. at McCurdy's Comedy Theatre. $15 to $19.

Jimmy Shubert’s full-contact comedy earned him a top-10-finalist slot in the 2014 season of Last Comic Standing.

Shubert has appeared on "King of Queens," "Entourage," "ER," "Monk," "Two Broke Girls", "Reno 911," and more.


 FRIDAY, FEB. 27

+ The Dram, Sabals and Kristopher James takes place at 8 p.m. at Cock & Bull Pub. 

Bradenton-area Americana six-piece, The Dram, will headline this show, which takes place at Cock & Bull Pub.

The night will also feature Orlando-based indie-rock outfit, Sabals, and Sarasota singer/songwriter Kristopher James.


SATURDAY, FEB. 28

gator club
+ Rock the Street  takes place  from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Gator Club. Free. 

This concert promotes local original music while raising money for the Children's Home Society of Florida.

Features, Francesca, The Cruz Brothers, The Infinite Eights, MeteorEYES, Double Thumz Up, Phil Coale Band, SLOWSHORE, Stones of Madness and RaeF.


SUNDAY, MARCH 1

+ Sarasota Jazz Festivaltakes place March 1 through 7 at various locations. Free and ticketed events.

The Jazz Club of Sarasota presents the 35th Annual Sarasota Jazz Festival, featuring free Phillippi Park concerts, a jazz trolley pub crawl and ticketed events featuring Dick Hyman, Freddy Cole and more.
