Barre3 offers community class on Main Street's lawn

Two women on a mission to make East County more fit are gearing up for the grand opening of Lakewood Ranch Main Street's first barre studio.

To generate support and awareness about their Ranch location of Barre3, co-owners Paulina Manning and Beth Woods are offering a free community class on the lawn this weekend.

From 10 to 11 a.m. Feb. 14, the duo will offer an outdoor exercise class, but without the ballet barre found inside Barre3's studio.

The lawn beside The Fish Hole Mini Golf will host the class.

The complimentary fitness lesson was designed to be one of a series of classes before the partners opened their facility on the shopping strip later this month. But, with a firm March 2 opening date, the women are only offering one more class to let East County know they're one of its new neighbors. 

Barre3 will offer a range of classes designed for individuals of any age and fitness level. 

The classes the facility will house are cardio-heavy, 60-minute yoga meets palates meets ballet barre. the barre technique focuses on small, centric movements to exercise large and small muscle groups.

And, the women, who decided to join the Barre3 team last year, say Main Street is the perfect location for their studio.

"This area is growing so much and barre classes are becoming more and more popular," Woods said. "There's definitely a demographic in Lakewood Ranch for this type of fitness facility."
