TUESDAY, FEB. 3

American Pie — takes place at 6 p.m. at Florida Studio Theatre. $18 to $36. Runs through April 26.

This performance dives into American life in the 1960s, taking a look at what inspired the songwriting of the time. Artists such as Simon and Garfunkel and Bob Dylan helped pave the way for Neil Diamond, John Mellancamp, Billy Joel and more. Features songs such as, “The Sounds of Silence,” “Sweet Caroline” and “New York State of Mind.”


WEDNESDAY, FEB. 4

+ Josh Sneed — takes place at 7 p.m. at McCurdy's Comedy Theatre. $15 to $19. Runs through March 1.

Sneed made his television debut on Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend.” He was chosen by Comedy Central to perform in the South Beach Comedy Festival, and he filmed a Comedy Central special later that year. He's also a favorite of “The Bob and Tom Show.” Now catch him live at McCurdy's.


THURSDAY, FEB. 5

ringling
+ Ringling Underground  takes place at 8 p.m. at The Ringling. $10 for adults, $5 for children and free for students.

This underground music and art showcase returns with music by Hymn for Her, Geri X and Triathalon. The featured exhibition will be “Seeing the Unseen,” which is a collection of contemporary Chinese photography and film. 


FRIDAY, FEB. 6

+ Local Evolution Craft Market — takes place at 5 p.m. at Darwin Brewing Company, Bradenton. Free.

Local beer and local crafts are the focus of this recurring event and collaboration between Geraldson Community Farm and Darwin Brewing Company.
Meet your local farmers and artisans and enjoy freshly prepared food, local music and craft beer in a beautiful brewery setting. Dogs welcome.


SATURDAY, FEB. 7

+ Sarasota Greek Fest — takes place from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday to Sunday at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church. $4. Free for children younger than 12.

Experience the tastes, smells, sounds and traditions of Greek culture at this annual festival. Enjoy authentic Greek food, beverages, live music, a marketplace and more.


SUNDAY, FEB. 8

+ Sarasota Music Half Marathon — takes place at 7 a.m. at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. Sold out.

It's a moving party! This nontraditional half marathon will keep runners entertained with live music from 16 bands throughout the course. Festivities also include a Girl Scout Cookie station, entertainment options, a beer mile, a gourmet brunch and a Motown party at the finish line.
