Six cars burglarized at East County churches

A suspect broke into vehicles parked at Our Lady of Angels and House of Fellowship churches.

Local law enforcement officials are searching for a suspect who targeted vehicles parked at East County churches.

During Sunday services Aug. 30, a man broke into and stole items from a vehicle parked outside of Our Lady of Angels church, located at 12905 State Road 70. The incident occurred around 7:50 a.m.

Between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., a suspect burglarized five cars parked at a Myakka church also located on State Road 70, House of Fellowship.

Officials haven't said whether the same suspect broke into cars at both locations.

Police officers are still looking for the suspect, a black male who wore blue jeans, a T-shirt and carried an orange towel.
