Weekend best bets: Dogs and Discounts and Nate’s Rescue Benefit

Start the weekend tonight at the Ranch Grill on State Road 70 and Lorraine Road for the Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue benefit.

Beginning at 5 p.m., the rescue will have a 50/50 raffle— the winner gets 50% of the winnings from raffle ticket sales and the remaining 50% will go to the rescue. Live music starts at 7 p.m.

The restaurant will have specials on food and drinks. “Celebrity” bartenders, including local business owners and community leaders, will serve drinks and their tips will be donated to the organization. And furry friends will be attending as well in the adoption corral.

Need another fundraising fix?

Head to the Humane Society at Lakewood Ranch’s Dogs and Discounts event Saturday morning from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Second Chance Boutique.

All proceeds from the consignment store go to the shelter. During Saturday’s event, the store will offer 20% discounts on regular items. Dogs available for adoption will be at the store, located at 6293 Lake Osprey Drive in Lakewood Ranch.
