Sunset photo chosen for statewide calendar

A photograph taken locally will represent Florida living in 2015.

The Florida Association of Counties selected Manatee County employee Jonathan Sabin's photo of a sunset at Fort Hamer Park for the cover of its 2015 calendar.

The cover photo was released at FAC's annual Legislative Conference earlier this week in Tampa.

FAC members chose the theme — sunrise and sunsets — in July and held the contest in August.

The association chose Sabin's photo from a pool of more than 500 photo submissions from 67 counties. Fifteen are featured in the calendar.

Nearby counties featured in the calendar include Pinellas County (January) and Hillsborough County (May).
