'Tis the season! The holiday-party season anyway, and having a signature party look is a must. Bold brows, wine-stained lips and flawless skin are some simple ways to break into the fall trends, and although it takes a bit of work, the final result should look effortless.

Start with a well-cleansed and moisturized face, and then apply a thin layer of foundation primer. Let your primer set in for about 10 minutes (now would be the perfect time to brush your teeth or start a fresh pot of coffee). After your primer is dry, use a flat bristle foundation brush and apply your foundation by first stippling it onto your skin and then going back over that in small, circular motions to make sure you have even coverage.

Time to conceal! Use an orange or red-based concealer under your eyes, using your ring finger to apply. If you have any red spots around your nose or any blemishes, use a blue-based concealer to counteract the redness and blend evenly. Now that we have your liquid foundation applied, use the same flat foundation brush to lightly dust on your powder concealer to set your foundation. The pale nude look is what we're going for, so keep the blush to an absolute minimum. If you feel too washed out, try using a bronze on the apples of your cheeks in place of blush.

We can all thank Cara Delevingne for helping us embrace our bold brows, but if you are a perpetual plucker, then you may need a bit of a brow filling. I prefer using powder over pencil, especially if this is your fist rodeo. Pencils tend to look a bit harsh, so using a powder is a bit easier for me to maneuver. There are a lot of great brow powder pallets, so mixing a few different colors is your best bet at making them look as natural as possible. Using a short-bristle, angled brush, apply powder, concentrating it on the outer portion of the brows. The best tip here is to work from the arch toward the end to avoid the dreaded unibrow. Then, you can take your brow brush and spread the excess pigment toward the inner corner of the brow, making sure to blend evenly.

Bold cranberry or wine-stained lips are everywhere this season and it makes for a beautiful contrast to your flawless matte skin. Start by buffering a thin layer of lip primer on your lips and letting that dry. Make sure the primer is thin enough so it doesn't look caked on when you do apply lipstick. Now go in with your plum or dark berry liner and line both top and bottom lips. Take your lip brush and feather out the liner so the majority of the pigment is on the outline of your lips and you can see your natural lip color on the center of your lips. Apply a thin layer of your matte berry lipstick, using the same lip brush and re-line if necessary.

These are just a few staples to keep in mind for your holiday parties this season, but don't be afraid to mix up this look with a bit of metallic shadow or a thick-winged eyeliner. Add a chunky-knit sweater dress, some knee-high boots and call it a night.
