Students head to Abu Dhabi

East County students are revved up for the F1 in Schools World Finals.

A team of East County students — Hannah Figueras, Madelyn Kumar, Domenic Aluise, Victoria Sinclair and Merritt Kendzior — left to day for Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The students, whose team is called Slipstream, will compete against 43 other teams around the world for the Bernie Eccelstone F1 in Schools World Championship trophy.

The competition combines design, engineering, manufacturing, project management, marketing, public rleations, budgeting, sponsorships and industry collaborations. Each team races and markets its own Formula One model car.

The team has raised about $30,000 of the $71,000 cost of the trip. For sponsorship opportunities, email [email protected].
