WEEKEND BEST BET: Grand Ovation

An annual celebration of community arts, filled with performances by drama teams, dancers and musicians, ranging in experience from school-aged children to professionals, returns for its seventh year.

From noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 1, Lakewood Ranch Main Street will transform, again, for Grand Ovation.

To draw attention to the culture of Southwest Florida, performances will be held throughout the day on one of three stages erected in the middle of the bustling shopping area. Representatives of nonprofit organizations will also be on site to provide information about their groups for interested patrons. 

As in prior years, the event continues to be free for attendees and participants. The shops along Main Street will remain open as well.
