A report released by the Florida Highway Patrol cites the Feb. 17 collision on State Road 70, to be caused by a driver who suffered from an unknown medical condition, which forced him to lose control of his Ford Expedition.
The driver, Arthur Dunne, and his wife, Cindy, were traveling East bound toward 197th St. E., when he suddenly became unable to maneuever his vehicle. Cindy Dunne made an effort to steer the vehicle toward safety, but was unable.
The couple traveled on the wrong side of the road and struck the right side of Carol Bradley's Dodge Caravan. Bradley swerved out of the way and managed to avoid a head-on collision.
After impact with Bradley, the Dunnes drove off of the road and struck a tree. Dunne was killed, while Cindy Dunne and Bradley suffered only minor injuries.
The investigation continues.
