The Sarasota Bay Estuary Program is accepting applications for the 2014 Bay Partner Grants Program.
The program aims to promote environmental education, community involvement and stewardship to improve the quality of Sarasota Bay and its tributaries.

Applications must be received by 4 p.m. Monday, March 3, at SBEP offices, 111 S. Orange Ave., Sarasota, and can also be emailed to Sara Kane at [email protected]. Organizations can receive grants of up to $3,000.

SBEP has awarded grants of $232,000 to more than 113 organizations since 2003.

Past Longboat Key recipients include Beachplace Association Inc., the Windward Bay Condominium Association and Sarasota Bay Watch, which used part of a 2012 grant to fund its Sister Keys cleanup.
Last year’s grant recipients included a peninsula restoration project at Plymouth Harbor; a native landscaping project at Save Our Seabirds; and a bay education project for students investigating fouling organisms and water quality.
