The Manatee County School District's number one priority is academic excellence.

Other high-priority areas of improvement for the School Board include financial stability, safety and security and technology and innovation, as outlined in the board members' goals for 2015.

In November, School Board Chairman Bob Gause asked board members to submit a goal to accomplish next year. Board members will discuss the goals at their workshop from 2 to 5 p.m. Dec. 9, at the School Support Center, 215 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.

The School Board's regular monthly meeting will follow at 5:45 p.m.
