Nov. 18
Seedy steal

8:08 a.m. — 600 block of Cedars Court. Larceny from Residence. A man discovered 10 potted plants missing from around his garage. Police found several rings indicating where the plants had been and a pile of dirt that had been poured out of one of the plants.

Nov. 20
Time to mend fences

9:20 a.m. — 1600 block of GMD. Vandalism. The property manager at the shuttered Colony Beach & Tennis Resort noticed the fences surrounding four buildings were bent to the side. A unit owner said during an association meeting the night before that he was the one who bent the fencing to gain access to his units. The next morning, the manager found two doors kicked in for units that don’t belong to the unit owner but are in the same building.

Off base
9:52 a.m. — 3100 block of GMD. Property Damage. Two condo board members reported that a brick column outside the building was moved off its base, possibly by a large cutting truck that was in the area. They said they would try to have the column moved back onto the base but aren’t sure if it will fall apart when moved.

Nov. 21
Holy terrier

11:51 a.m. — Intersection of Gulf of Mexico Drive and Buttonwood Drive. Dog Bite. A leashed fox terrier bit a man who was riding his bike on the sidewalk, causing him to fall off his bike. The dog’s owner said the cyclist rode up from behind and startled her dog, causing the dog to bite him. The man sustained lacerations and scrapes. Firefighter/paramedics advised the man’s wife to take him to a hospital.

In the hot seat
12:29 p.m. — 5600 block of GMD. Suspicious Person. A caller reported that a man with a briefcase was in his condo’s parking garage and didn’t belong there. The man is a cook at a nearby restaurant and was waiting for a bus but became hot and went into the parking garage to wait. He said he might have dozed off. The man agreed to wait on the street for the bus.

Nov. 25
Deposit slip

4:26 p.m. — 500 block of Schooner Lane. Civil Disturbance. A man rented a home on Schooner Lane and the landlord hasn’t returned his $750 deposit. The landlord said he would “look into it” more than three months ago.
