The event will feature author meet-and-greet sessions, book discussions, an open-microphone session, a book sale to benefit the Friends of Selby Library and more. The library is located at 1331 First St., Sarasota.

This is the second time Selby has hosted the event, which attracted more than 800 people in 2010.

“People love to read and the libraries are more popular than ever, so everyone is really looking forward to this event that allows book lovers to celebrate together,” said Librarian Vera Neumann-Wood, in a news release.

Several authors will participate in meet-and-greet sessions, including Diana Abu-Jaber, Lynne Barrett, Don Bruns, Adam Davies, Lucia Greenhouse, H. Terrell Griffin, Tayari Jones, Ward Larsen, Johanna Moran, Kris Radish and Judith Rock. Bookstore1 Sarasota and Oceanview Publishing will provide books for sale and signing opportunities by the authors.

Topics for book discussions include:
• Audiobooks facilitated by Susan Rife, arts and books editor for the Herald-Tribune Media Group.

• Who Knew? and Poetry, facilitated by Georgia Court, Bookstore1 Sarasota owner.

• Classic Food Writers facilitated by librarian Charlotte Thompson.

• New to You, a sneak preview of new books with David Chaplin, Bookstore1 Sarasota’s manager.
