Firefighters to hold open house

Longboat Key Fire Rescue will hold an open house from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the North Station, 5490 Gulf of Mexico Drive.

Firefighter/paramedics will use the Jaws of Life for a vehicle-extraction demonstration at 11:30 a.m. The event will include the opportunity to tour the station and learn more about the Fire Rescue department. The Manatee County bloodmobile will also be present.
