Historical Society hosts river cleanup

Members of the Old Braden River Historical Society this weekend head to Linger Lodge RV Resort and Campground to conduct a river cleanup.

Registration for the event, which is open for the public, will begin at 8:30 a.m., adjacent to the boat launch. The cleanup will run from 9 a.m. to noon.

Participants are asked to bring their own canoe or kayak, if they have one, although a few boats will be available to use. Individuals also should bring sunscreen and a hat and wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

Linger Lodge is located at 7205 85th St. Court E., Bradenton.
