County considers Tara bridge proposal

Manatee County officials on Tuesday will consider a $1.7 million land deal to end eminent domain proceedings surrounding the construction of the Tara Bridge.

Under the proposal, the county would purchase the 3.6 acres needed to extend Tara Boulevard across the river to Honore Avenue, as well as the surrounding 22 acres.

The Manatee County Board of County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. Sept. 20 in the first-floor chambers of the county administrative building, 1112 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.

Other items under consideration include a 10 a.m. time certain regarding the 44th Avenue East extension, as well as route fares for Manatee County Area Transit services.
