The Lakewood Ranch Tour of Homes will run Nov. 4-20.

LAKEWOOD RANCH — Home sales in Lakewood Ranch have more than doubled from this time last year, and Lakewood Ranch homebuilders are eager to show off what has new homebuyers so excited.

East County residents and visitors alike can check out the newest features and design trends for new homes during the Lakewood Ranch Tour of Homes, which runs Nov. 4-20. Homebuilders such as Neal Communities, John Cannon Homes, Minto and others, will showcase their best model homes and villas during the special event.

“There are actually more models in this year’s tour than we’ve ever had,” said Candice McElyea, spokesperson for Lakewood Ranch developer Schroeder-Manatee Ranch. “We have 41 (models included), and we just had another model open that’s not included in the tour. We’re really geared up for an awesome event.”

The tour features homes by more than a dozen homebuilders with price points ranging from the $140,000s to about $2 million. The majority of homes featured are in Country Club East and Central Park communities — each with at least 15 homes showcased — but models also are located in The Lake Club, The Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club, Miramar and Greenbrook.

“We have visitors tells us they plan their vacation around the Tour of Homes,” McElyea said. “It’s an opportunity for everybody who works here on the Ranch to open our doors and welcome the public and (start) the new season.”

Tour of Homes guide books can be picked up at any of Lakewood Ranch’s three information centers: 6220 University Parkway, 6310 Lakewood Ranch Blvd., and 8307 Lake Club Blvd.

Model home and information center hours during the tour are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 5 p.m., Sundays.
