Bay Isles home sells for $1.65 million

The Ontario corporation of 834564 Ontario Limited sold the home at 541 Harbor Point in Bay Isles Unit 1 to Thomas and Dolores Diener, of Venetia, Pa., for $1.65 million. Built in 1988, the 3,852-square-foot home has four bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms and a swimming pool. It last sold for $2.5 million in February 2007.

The sale was the largest of 15 transactions recorded at the Sarasota and Manatee county courthouses during the week of March 14 through March 18 on Longboat, Lido, St. Armands and Bird keys. Of the week’s sales, nine occurred on Longboat Key, one of which was in Manatee County, while two each occurred on Lido, St. Armands and Bird keys. Three of the week’s sales were for $1 million or more.

Players Club
Gerald and Catherine Sheridan, of Nashville, Tenn., sold Unit 101 at the Players Club IV, 1425 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to Dan and Mary Phelps, of Nashville, for $950,000. Built in 1983, the 2,370-square-foot home has three bedrooms and four bathrooms. It last sold for $425,000 in July 1986.

Winding Oaks
Kenneth Zuckerman, of North Kingston, R.I., and Debra Zuckerman, of Providence, R.I., individually and as successor co-trustees, and Northern Trust N.A., of Sarasota, as successor co-trustee, sold Unit 53 at Winding Oaks, 3408 Winding Oaks Drive, to David and Susan Gorin, of McLean, Va., for $432,000. Built in 1988, the 2,013-square-foot unit has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It sold for $282,500 in August 1991.

Beachplace
David and Joan Blum, of Bradenton, sold Unit 403 in Building 6 at Beachplace II, 1095 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to James Miller, 1075 Gulf of Mexico Drive, for $430,000. Built in 1981, the 1,503-square-foot unit has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The Blums paid $185,000 for the unit in June
1991.

In Beachplace III, Global Picture Services Inc., a dissolved Florida corporation, for the purpose of winding up and liquidating its business and affairs, sold Unit 302 in Building 10 at 1065 Gulf of Mexico Drive to Patrick Canivet, who is listed as the corporation’s president on the warranty deed, for $311,000. Built in 1981, the 1,392-square-foot unit has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Global Picture Services Inc. paid $400,000 in October 2001.

Jungle Queen Way
Robert Rokop and Dianne Martino-Reynolds, husband and wife, of Longboat Key, sold their home at 834 Jungle Queen Way to Richard Parr, of West Wickham, England, for $299,900. Built in 1962 and remodeled in 1988, the 1,346-square-foot home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It last sold for $225,000 in January 2001.

The Colony Beach & Tennis Resort
A Delaware limited-liability company, 1620 Properties LLC, with a Buffalo, N.Y., address, purchased three units at the Colony Beach & Tennis Resort, 1620 Gulf of Mexico Drive. All units were built in 1973 and have 705 square feet of living space.

Steven Jaffe, of Englewood, N.J., sold Unit 105-S for $65,000. It last sold for $75,000 in May 1991.

Eric and Eugenie Sundquist, 3040 Grand Bay Blvd., and Christopher and Kristin Sundquist Wood, of Atlanta, sold Unit 145S for $60,000. It last sold for $120,000 in August 2005.

Stephen Thompson, of Glen Haven, Nova Scotia, sold Unit 145-N for $60,000. It last sold for $67,000 in December 1995.

Bird Key
Henry Hodgson and Elissa Wyatt-Hodgson, husband and wife, sold their home at 481 E. Royal Flamingo Drive to Alexander Pursley, of Fort Wayne, Ind., for $1.46 million. Built in 1995, the 4,047-square-foot home has three bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms and a swimming pool. It last sold for $2 million in January 2005.

Also on Bird Key, Ralph and Joan Cobb, of Sarasota, sold their home at 381 Bob White Drive to Steven Horton and his wife, Ann Russell-Horton, of Kirkland, Wash., for $995,000. Built in 2003, the 3,790-square-foot home has four bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms and a swimming pool. It last sold for $1,175,000 in September 2006.

Lido Key
Robert and Georgia Buck, of Sarasota, sold their home at 184 Whittier Drive in Lido Beach Division A of the John Ringling Estates to Ronald and Mary Ellen Shapiro, of Cincinnati, for $1 million. Built in 1963, the 2,371-square-foot home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and one half-bath. It last sold for $1.15 million in March 2008.

Also on Lido Key, Maureen Kennelly, of Saline, Mich., sold her half-interest in Unit B-210 at L’Elegance on Lido Beach, 1800 Benjamin Franklin Drive, to Dianne Bowden, of Indianapolis, for $410,000. Built in 1996, the 1,700-square-foot unit has two bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms. Bowden and Kennelly purchased the unit for $300,000 in February 1996.

St. Armands Key
Robert White and his wife, Mary Hilton, of St. Petersburg, sold Unit 53 at St. Armands Towers, 101 Ben Franklin Drive, to Christopher and Susan Greco, of Haverhill, Mass., for $635,000. Built in 1968, the 1,320-square-foot unit has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. White and Hilton paid $300,000 for the unit in August 1999.

Edward Kestel, of Glendale, N.Y., sold Unit 16 at Embassy Villa condominium, 800 Blvd. of the Presidents, to Vicki Ogden for $245,000. Built in 1972, the 1,090-square-foot unit has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It last sold for $280,000 in August 2010.
