David Bolger, president and founder of the Bolger Foundation, has donated $2.6 million to create the new Urgent Care Clinic, a Sarasota Memorial Health Care System ancillary facility at 6331 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota.

The new location will give the clinic greater visibility than it has at its current leased space on the west side of Tamiami Trail.

The new, 4,500-square-foot building is scheduled to open in July and will have nine patient examination rooms, a pharmacy, lab, X-ray area and parking. More than 8,000 patient visits are expected in the facility’s first year, and the clinic could draw up to 12,000 visits in the future.

The renovated building will be named the Bolger Building in honor of Bolger, who lives on Longboat Key and in New Jersey.

“This is a great opportunity to serve the community of which I am proud to be a part,” Bolger said in a prepared statement.

Bolger is the founder of the Ridgewood, N.J. real-estate investment firm Bolger & Co. In 2000, he established the Bolger Foundation, which has donated more than $70 million to philanthropic causes.
