Obituary: Robert Story Schley Sr.

Robert Story Schley Sr., of Fox Point, Wis., and Longboat Key, died June 19. Born May 30, 1922, in Milwaukee, he spent 39 months in the U.S. Army from 1942 through 1946 and in 1950 founded Robert S. Schley & Associates, a real-estate appraiser firm. He was involved with the Village of Fox Point for more than 20 years and served on the Building Board and Plan Commission and as a Village trustee for nine years.

On Longboat Key, Mr. Schley was a board member of the Whitney Beach Association and a founding member of Cedars Tennis Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, playing cards and his computer.

Mr. Schley was preceded in death by his wife, Irene. He is survived by sons Robert Schley Jr. and Stephen Schley; daughter, Tracy Mayfield; sister, Sally Manegold; brother, Edward Schley; and four grandchildren.

Memorial services have been held. Donations can be made in Mr. Schley’s memory to North Shore Congregational Church, 7330 N.
