Key Club gathers golf balls for troops

Longboat Key Club’s golf director, Terry O’Hara, above, is sending thousands of old range balls as well as used clubs from some of the club’s members to a troop in Afghanistan. His brother-in-law, Danny Mastrovito, has a friend, Scott Roderick, serving there who wanted to be able to hit golf balls on the 200-yard driving range that he and his other troop members created. O’Hara is also offering free golf lessons, rounds of golf for four and other perks for returning soldiers.
