The North Shore Road beach access will re-open by Friday, July 1, in time for the Fourth of July holiday weekend, according to Longboat Key Public Works Director Juan Florensa.
A $4.5 million north-end emergency beach project is wrapping up this week and has brought 133,000 cubic yards of sand to the area. Beachgoers will be able to access Beer Can Island by foot once again.
