Town schedules trolley meeting

The town will host a meeting at noon Friday, Feb. 4, with Manatee County and Sarasota County transit officials to discuss the town’s trolley/bus route.

In an e-mail to trolley supporters last week, Longboat Key, Lido Key, St. Armands Key Chamber of Commerce President Tom Aposporos told supporters of the “Hop on the Bus” Committee the purpose of the meeting is to explore and discuss advertising on buses and ways to market the use of the bus to increase ridership on Longboat Key.

Public Works Manager Juan Florensa, appointed by Town Manager Bruce St. Denis to act as a liaison for the bus committee, arranged Friday’s meeting.
