Local educators named finalists for Edvantage Education Awards

Three East County educators and school support staff members have been selected as finalists for the Manatee County School District’s Edvantage Education Awards.

For the education award, Braden River Middle School’s Jillene Bergeron is one of four finalists, who include Mihija Daniel of Rowlett Elementary, Dameon Headings of Palm View Elementary and Pauline Barnes of Sugg Middle School.

For the Support Award, Ange Inderwiesen of Nolan Middle School and Cristina Aburto of Tara Elementary School are top contenders. Other finalists are Lori Pick of Mills Elementary and Linda Campos of Sea Breeze Elementary.

The finalists will be honored and the Educator of the Year will be announced Feb. 29.
