Obituary: Ruth Meyfarth

Ruth Meyfarth, 95, of Longboat Key and Bradenton, died Aug. 14.

Mrs. Meyfarth was born April 30, 1916. She graduated from high school one year early and worked for the school and was a secretary for an insurance company until she had children. She married Herbert Meyfarth Aug. 6, 1938. The Meyfarths lived in Cleveland until they retired in 1972 to Florida.

She was active in various organizations, including the Republican Women’s Club and garden clubs and was a veterans hospital volunteer.

Her favorite Florida activities were playing tennis, walking on he beach and being with her family.

Mrs. Meyfarth was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Herbert. She is survived by her son, Fred, of Temple Terrace; daughter, Nancy, of Sarasota; four grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.
