Longboat Key Firefighter/EMT Thomas Fultz was promoted to the rank of lieutenant Thursday, Sept. 23. Fultz has worked for the Longboat Key Fire Rescue Department for the last 11 years.

Fire Rescue Chief Paul Dezzi said that Fultz is a level-headed leader who is able to establish a good rapport.

“We need a guy who will help lead us to the next level, and he is that guy,” Dezzi said.

Fultz said that he enjoys the camaraderie and variety of his job.

“Every shift is different,” he said.
