County proclaims Sept. 25 'Day for Kids'

Thanks to the local efforts of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Sarasota County, Mayor Kelly Kirschner and County Commissioner Joe Barbetta, both the city of Sarasota and Sarasota County will recognize Saturday, Sept. 25, as the official “Day for Kids.”

The day will include Walk for the Kids, a fundraiser that encourages both adults and children to walk together. The 3-K walk promotes teambuilding through an online website, where individuals can create teams to walk and raise money to support children who need the BGC most. Each of the four locations will host a walk and free family activities.
