Cannons Marina recently celebrated its 55th anniversary of business on Longboat Key. Established in 1955 by Paul Miller, Cannons Marina is the oldest family-owned-and-operated business on the Key. David Miller, who acquired the business from his father in 1972, co-owns the full-service marina with his wife, Lucile Capo-Miller.

“As a young boy in 1955, little did I know that we would have the longevity we have today,” David Miller said in a prepared statement. “I owe it to team members like Marina Manager Benny Parrish, and Service Manager Tom Tomao, who have both been with Cannons Marina for 28 years, and to Jim Gallagher, assistant marina manager, who has been with Cannons for 24 years.”
