Sarasota now has a yarn to call its own that’s almost as mesmerizing as the Gulf of Mexico itself. Local knitting store A Good Yarn has introduced a new yarn color named after the shimmering Gulf. The turquoise-and-green yarn features blue-gray accents and is a creative collaboration of A Good Yarn owner Susan Post and the Minnesota fiber company Three Irish Girls.

“My love for the Gulf of Mexico rivals my love for knitting, so it’s a dream come true to create a yarn that resembles Florida’s beautiful coast,” Post said.

Through July 31, 10% of Gulf of Mexico yarn proceeds will be donated to the National Wildlife Federation to aid in oil-spill relief efforts. Visit www.agoodyarnsarasota.com for information.
