The Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen is a rare breed of French hound, so when Tom Cetwinski and his wife, Pearl, encountered several of them while walking through Joan M. Durante Park one day, they stopped and took notice.

The Cetwinskis, who own three PBGVs (Vive la Femme, Gauguin and Matisse), met Chuck and Molly Biranbaum and Pam and Jerry Brabant about a year ago during their strolls in the park.

The group now meets on weekends to take their walks together, allowing both the owners and the dogs to socialize.

“PBGVs are a friendly, rambunctious breed,” says Tom Cetwinski. “They like to socialize, and these dogs get along very well.”
