Nearly 70 sailors and boating enthusiasts attended a “Safety at Sea” seminar held Saturday, March 27, at Sarasota Yacht Club. Attendees learned about boats in offshore waters, boat crew and preparation, using heavy-weather tactics, communications and First-Aid topics. The event included an “abandon ship” demonstration in the yacht club’s swimming pool by 30-year Navy veteran Ron Trossbach and Scott Swenby, of Revere Supply & Life Raft.
