The night-blooming cactus or Selenicereus, doesn’t resemble anything special during most of the year. The cactus clings to trees and looks withered until during one night each year when the blossoms burst open to reveal a flower with white petals. For a few hours the blossoms put on a show only to close up just before dawn.
