Turtle nest scheduled for excavation

A turtle nest hatched on Longboat Key and is scheduled for excavation. The excavation is scheduled for 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at 4949 Gulf of Mexico Drive. Parking is available at the public beach access at 4795 Gulf of Mexico Drive. The event will take place rain or shine and will be canceled only in the event of lightning.
