A group of Sarasota teens came together during the summer break for a creative contribution for All Faiths Food Bank.

The facilities at All Faiths Food Bank received a facelift in the form of a mural in what is called the sorting room. The sorting room is where hundreds of volunteers spend their time sorting food donations to be distributed to families throughout Sarasota.

The completed mural included fruits and vegetables like strawberries in the shapes of hearts, carrots, orange slices, avocados and more to represent the contributions that All Faiths Food Bank gives to the community it serves.

The design was the idea of recent Pine View graduate and Girl Scout Marie Dull who will start the art program at New York University in the fall. She also organized the group of teens that who helped bring the mural to life that included students from Pine View, Sarasota High School and Sarasota Military Academy.

“I wanted to support the Food Bank, and use my love of art to make something special,” Dull said in a release. “We have had so much fun painting, and I am grateful for the support of my Girl Scout troop, family and friends, and their encouragement when it comes to projects like this one.”
