Sheriff investigates death near Midnight Pass

The Sheriff did not find identifying information at the scene, but released the victim’s name and date of birth the following morning.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Douglas G. Swimm, white male, born on Feb. 23, 1970.

His body was discovered on Oct. 1 in an isolated location along the shoreline between Casey Key and Siesta Key. No other information was available, according to the Sherrif’s Office, and the investigation is ongoing.
