The Manatee County School Board has agreed to endorse a letter by Seminole County’s superintendent requesting the state consider replacing Florida Standards Assessment testing.

Seminole County School District Superintendent Walt Griffin has asked Florida Department of Education Commissioner Pam Stewart to consider using nationally norm-referenced standardized achievement tests beginning in the 2015-2016 school year in place of the FSA.

The goal is to reduce the number of hours students across Florida are engaged in state-mandated testing, while finding a valid, reliable means of assessment.
