Police asking for help locating missing boy

The Sarasota Police Department is asking for help in locating a missing 14-year-old.

Jabez Spann was last seen near 1500 23rd Street, in a residential neighborhood in Newtown, on Labor Day evening, Sept. 4. He has not been seen or heard from since then — more than a week ago.

He is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

The police department posted on social media on Wednesday and Friday of last week, but is hoping to receive more leads.
